Speaking in relation to the Manchester airport incident, Matt Vickers MP highlighted how new information has revealed there are always two sides to every story, and that partial information online was used to subject police officers to trial by social media.
In his despatch box speech, Matt Vickers MP asked the Government:
At Manchester Airport this week we've seen how anti-social behaviour can quickly spiral into very serious violence.
We've all seen how police officers can become subject to trial by social media with only partial information.
The last Government brought forward the use of force review to give officers the clarity and confidence to act in the most challenging of circumstances.
Can the Rt Honourable Lady assure us she will continue this important work and assure this house that they will stand on the side of our brave officers.
